Leaving the magnificent and iconic Rock of Gibraltar behind, you will embark on this exciting 500nm offshore sailing adventure to the capital of the Balearic archipelago, Palma de Mallorca! Under the guidance of an experienced offshore skipper on this popular and exciting one-way voyage, you and your fellow crew will travel by and and by night to give a real experience of being 'on passage'. There will be several 60 mile passages incorporated into the voyage, perfect for the aspiring yachtmasters who are seeking skippered passages and those looking to gain miles quickly. En route the yacht will stop in a few ports for you to explore and enjoy some time ashore. This voyage provides ample opportunity to experience the thrill of real offshore sailing and all that entails. Passage planning, crew management, watch keeping and safety at sea are all brought to the fore! No experience is necessary, just a good team spirit and a sense of adventure!
This event will be run on one of our larger / faster yachts, so if you're wanting to experience a longer passage on a large yacht, this is the trip for you! This adventure is part of a two-way event. So if you like the idea of notching up over 1000 miles on the complete round trip, have a look at the Palma to Gibraltar leg.
If you fancy brushing up on your theory beforehand, or even doing your Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory before your adventure, we offer RYA theory courses online. Travel information:
Flights to and from both Gibraltar and Palma are reasonably priced and transfers from either airport to the yacht are a simple bus ride or short taxi ride.

Absolutely incredible! Recently, I completed Jolly Parrot’s ‘Novice to Day Skipper’ course, and it was one of the best experiences of my life! Not only did I learn to sail, but the course also improved my confidence massively. The instructors were all so lovely and incredibly knowledgeable. We spent a wonderful 11 days in November 2021 with Jolly Parrot. I completed the Coastal Skipper Combined course and my wife the Comp Crew. Instructors Flipper, IanG, Hailey, and Tom were all exceptional in their own unique way and we came away with more rounded skills and knowledge as a result of their patient teaching methods. Clive and Rachel did a fabulous job of shuffling schedules and boats to accommodate our different experience levels. Expect to be challenged on the Coastal Skipper course! We made some abiding memories, some long-term connections and friends, and hope to return soon for the next challenge maybe a mile-builder.
