Tailored Tours: Choose from three exclusive tours - 7 nights, 6 nights or 3 nights.  These are available monthly from May 2024.  Every night is spent onboard our well appointed vessel.

Seamless Experience: Relax and entrust your journey to us.  We provide airport transfers to and from nearby Satiago or Vigo aiports (flights from London Stansted), guide you through the tour, and ensure your timely return to the airport on the final day.

Culture: The towns around the coast of the rias offer a rich cultural heritage.  Sanxenxo, Combarro and O Grove are some of the towns on the Rias Baixas wine route.  They have wonderful historic centres and they also offer some other attractions such as incredible beaches and natural parks and spas.  Santiago de Compostela is an exceptionally interesting city to be explored on the tour's Pilgrimage Day.

Sailing Expertise: No prior sailing experience is necessary.  Tailor your sailing involvement to your preference, whether it's a leisurely cruise or an opportunity to learn and enhance your sailing skills.  Our Skipper, Tom, rated RYA Yachtmaster Ocean and RYA Yachtmaster Instructor has extensive teaching experience and can accommodate all skill levels up to yachtmaster proficiency. 

The boat: You'll be sailing on our spacious, comtemporary and beautifully appointed 40ft Hanse 415 sailing cruiser 'Kraken', built in 2017.

Flexible Itinerary: Explore numerous enchanting destinations, adapting our flexible sailing plan to weather conditions and your preferences.

Private Accommodation: Enjoy comfort and privacy onboard with a limit of four passengers.  Book a single place to have your own double cabin.  If you book for two persons then you'll share a double cabin.  Larger parties (up to six) are welcome with a block booking.  There are three double cabins. 

Language Enrichment: Interested in learning or improving your Spanish?  Our fluent Spanish speaking Skipper, Tom, will be pleased to encourage language practice throughout the tour.

Onboard Cuisine: Indulge in well-provisioned meals onboard, including breakfast, lunch and refreshments.  For most evening meals you'll want to eat out and to explore the charming coastal towns and villages where we drop anchor.  If necessary, we can provide some evening meals onboard by arrangement. 

Destinations: Marvel at the stunning Vigo coastal area from the optimal vantage point - the sea.  Immerse yourself in the beauty of traditional coastal towns such as Combarro and O Grove, as well as the wild, pristine islands and inlets.  Explore the breathtaking Illas Cies with their mesmerizing dunes and diverse birdlife.  Experience a day in the incredible historic UNESCO World Heritage city of Santiago de Compostela.

Operational Details: 

  1. Flexible Itineraries: Our itineraries serve as a guide, subject to weather conditions and the collaborative decisions of passengers and the Skipper.
  2. What's included: The price covers all safety equipment, airport transfers, accommodations, use of waterproof clothing, bedding and towels, mooring fees and fuel, onboard breakfast, lunch and refreshments. 
  3. What's not included: Flights, your sailing and travel insurance, expenses related to dining out, alcohol and visas where required.
  4. Insurance: We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance.
  5. Deposit requirement: Secure your place with a 30% deposit upon booking.
  6. Block-Booking: The whole boat can be block-booked for up to six passengers.  For prices and availability visit KMTSailing.uk
  7. Flights: Although flights aren't included in the cost of our tours, we do suggest flights which fit in with the tour and which allow us to provide you with transport to and from the airport in Spain. Flight details can be found on our website KMTSailing
  8. Cabins: Anyone booking a single place will be in their own cabin.  Book for two persons if you're happy to share a double cabin.
  9. Kit list:  We'll provide waterproofs and life jackets.  Bring layers of warm clothing to suit the various situations in which you're likely to find yourself.  The weather on the Galician coast can be changeable.  We also suggest that you bring sailing gloves for rope handling, a warm hat, flip-flops, sun cream and swimwear.
  10. Electrical:  There is access to 220V mains and USB ports for charging.

Your cultural sailing tour will be skippered by Tom.  Tom is RYA Yachtmaster Ocean qualified and an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor (Sail).  He resides in Spain, having lived in Baiona and the Rias Baixas area.  Fluent in Spanish, Tom has cultivated his love for sailing and has been imparting his knowledge at various sailing schools across the globe for many years.  He's sailed to South America, crossed the Atlantic single handed and competed in the Fastnet Race.
